Fuerteventura

Caleta de Fuste Beach
The beach is shaped like a big horseshoe and the sand here is imported – so it’s firmer to walk on. Be aware that the tide does come in quite quickly and the sand shelves by the waters edge – so young children will need supervision! Crystal clear water, azure blue seas and the sun to warm you through takes some beating. You can hire your own sail boat, or be taken out for a boat trip, you book a submarine trip – there is always something exciting to try out. The town centre is not too far, and there are plenty of good restaurants to choose from your evening dining.
Tindaya Beach
You’ll need your walking legs on if you want to visit the beaches on the west of the island, since many of them can only be accessed by rough tracks. Off-season, there are lovely quiet beaches with the view of Tindaya Mountain in the background.
Things To Enjoy on Fuerteventura

Oasis Park Zoo
This zoo has a fine collection of animals, and if you want to try something a bit different, book a place on their camel safari. There are over 200 breeds of animals to learn about here , plus courses, the Reptile, Parrot, and Sealions Show to enjoy.
Corralejo Harbour
There is a dive centre based at Corralejo Harbour where you can take a class in kayaking or snorkeling – or how about a trip on a Catamaran to neighbouring Lobos? If being in or on the water is not for your, you can explore the island from a guided bus tour – which takes in all the key sights such as the hot springs and salt flats in Janubio.
Timanfay National Park
Timanfay National Park is a great one for any children interested in watching real live experiments – you can watch some geothermal experiments performed by the Park Guides, which will give you an idea of what’s bubbling away under the earths surface.
The island is thought to be the most ancient of the Canary Islands, and its stark landscape perfectly reflects that the island was born out of volcanic action. You won’t have to worry about volcanos’ bursting into life now – the last major eruption took place over 6,500 years ago!
