No city has become so synonymous with a band than Liverpool is with The Beatles.
But with the group being one of the most famous in the world it’s no surprise that the city is so proud of its links to the four musicians. You don’t need to walk far around the city of Liverpool to come across some landmark or building that has a connection to The Beatles, so here’s a run through of some of the best and most famous.

Mendips and 20 Forthlin Road
On a trip to see famous places related to The Beatles, what better place to start than where they started out – their family homes. There are tours available that will take you around the houses of ‘Mendips’ and 20 Forthlin Road where John Lennon and Paul McCartney grew up.
Walk through the rooms where the Beatles met, composed and rehearsed some of their earliest songs. You can even stand in the spot where some of the most well-known songs were first written. It’s a great chance to see the humble beginnings of these incredibly famous men.
Casbah Coffee Club
There are other clubs that are usually thought of first when The Beatles are mentioned, but the Casbah Coffee Club is where it all began for the band. John, Paul and George would perform there as an early incarnation of the famous group that they would become.
Paul talks fondly of the club, saying: “I think it’s a good idea to let people know about the Casbah. They know about the Cavern, they know about some of those things, but the Casbah was the place where all that started. We helped paint it and stuff. We looked upon it as our personal club”
It’s only recently that the Casbah Coffee Club has been opened up and made available for tours, but it’s another spot for Beatles fans to see more of their early beginnings.
The Cavern Club
The Cavern Club is without a doubt the most famous connection to The Beatles. Because of its links to the group it has become one of the most famous live music venues in the world.
The Beatles played in the club over three hundred times, marking it as their chosen spot in which to play their songs. The club is located on Matthew Street in the city centre and though the club as it was back then no longer exists, the current club occupies the same space and some of the original brickwork stills remains. A definite stop-off point for any Beatles fan.

This is a fun and fascinating two hour tour that is dedicated to the famous band and will take you around all the places associated with John, Paul, George and Ringo. This includes visiting some of the places that inspired their most popular and well known songs, such as Penny Lane and Strawberry Fields, before finishing up at the legendary Cavern Club.
Museum of Liverpool
It may be that you’re visiting the city for a weekend break, staying overnight in one of Liverpool’s hotels like Thistle Hotel and want to see various parts of it as well as a bit of The Beatles. In this case the Museum of Liverpool may be the place for you, with many varying and diverse collections and exhibits – including one that is dedicated to the group.
Named “In the Town Where I Was Born” the collection showcases items from the band and the Cavern Club and allows visitors to experience the sights and sounds that shaped the famous four.
