If you are up for something a little more energetic you could go for a walk and take in some of the spectacular countryside. If you are a little more experienced try your hand at some hill trecking or mountaineering. Ben Nevis is the highest mountain in the United Kingdom, standing at an impressive 1,344 metres. If you are not a hard core climber however, you can still enjoy the magnificent scenery which changes dramatically through the seasons.

If you are into your sporting holiday activities, you could try one of Scotland’s many golf courses  – there are in the region of  550 courses to choose from, ranging from the beginners right the way to the impressive St. Andrews. Whether you want to play a serious game or just want to experience knocking a few golf balls from the driving range, you’ll be sure to have a good time.

Go out and explore Scotland for yourself; visit the local distilleries, or sample some local specialities such as Cloutie Dumpling, proper haggis or Cranachan Pudding – a wonderful dessert concoction of raspberries, oatmeal, cream and whiskey! Scotland is big on poetry readings and live music, so between the great outdoors and the friendly eateries, you’re sure to enjoy yourself in this beautiful country.
