Beaches Volcanos And Adventure Parks
Its great waking up next to a warm, sun filled beach. I had a lovely time visiting the Canary Islands last summer. Having lived in Britain the past few years, I’ve come across lots of great reviews of the Canaries and wanted to  sample the islands for myself.  So, with my bags packed, and ticket in hand, I set off to explore the wonders of Tenerife, the largest of the islands.
Accommodation
Landing in the Northern Airport near the capital of Puerto de la Cruz, I already had a bit of a plan arranged in my head. As I always do, I try to locate a suitable Tenerife hotel ahead of my arrival. Accommodation tends to vary quite a bit and I tried to balance out cost with comfort, eventually deciding upon Apartments Casablanca. Just a short distance away from Puerto, it costs a reasonable £30 for a night. Quiet and well placed, it was a wonderful base from which to explore the rest of Tenerife.
Walking on Volcanos
Out in the distance I saw Volcan El Teide. With the choice of climbing or taking a cable car, I decided to do the former first and then relax in the cable car on the way down. Its nearly 4 km to the summit, it can get quite cool as you climb up, so you’ll need something to put on, and some sunscreen. Nothing compares to climbing up a volcano and looking down at the entire city!
Waterpark Adventure
Getting back down to the city, I picked up a travel catalogue in a shop and I found my next location: Siam Park. Located in Adeje, it’s a great water park filled with Thai temples and little rivers, as well as many slides to have fun in. Its aimed at older children and adults and  I would recommend it. Picking up a cocktail and drifting through the complex was a wonderful experience.
A Place to Eat
You need to keep your energy up on holiday, so good food is essential.  Finding a restaurant in Tenerife is not difficult; check out the local Mediterranean restaurants, such as Restaurante Las Velas.  With most dishes priced around £12, the King Prawns were to die for. Right on the port, it has great service and good value food.
Beaching It
You cannot leave the island without spending a few hours relaxing on its famous beaches.  A local told me that the Playa de Torviscas was a popular location with tourists and had lovely beaches. The beach is free of course, but it’s a good idea to invest in a  sun lounger as the sand can become really hot to lie on. All you need are your sunglasses and sun screen – and you’re away, mulling over your holiday experiences in the warm sun.
