For The Great Outdoors Visit Slovenia’s Countryside

Slovenia has a national park, Triglav, where you can climb to the summit of Mount Triglav, but at 2,864 metres, it’s a bit of a hike – so take suitable footwear! If you don’t want to tackle the mountain on foot,  you can hire mountain bikes. Alternatively, take a walk to the village of Pokljuka or the stunning Tolminska Ravine.
Southern Sights
If you travel south, take a trip to Lake Bohinj, with Triglav Mountain as a backdrop – great for photography lovers. Follow this up with a walk to the Savica Falls. Its an impressive 28 metre drop! If you like heights, take a seat in the Vogel Cable Car for a marvellous aerial view of the mountains and surrounding countryside.
The town of Bovec in Soca Valley is known as the adventure playground of Slovenia. If you enjoy white water rafting, a hair-raising trip down the Soca River is a must – its fast, treacherous, and very exciting . If that sounds a bit too active, you can hire family sized canoes, or cycle alongside the river. For history lovers, you can visit the Kobarid War Museum where you can take a tour of World War I front lines, which are just outside the city.
