Where Are The Best Places To Stay?
There are two main resorts people choose in Ibiza, Playa d’en Bossa or San Antonio, with most opting for the latter. The vast majority of bars, clubs and hotels are located in these areas, so if you don’t want to have to commute to the club, it’s highly recommended you stay in either one of these resorts. These areas are certainly most popular with those looking for Ibiza package holidays. If, however, you’re seeking a more remote and tranquil area then the north east of the island is probably better suited to you, where you will find many remote villas and apartments all along the coast and further inland if you want even more privacy. For families, Playa d’en Bossa seems to be the best place, with a lot of entertainment, restaurants and family friendly hotels right on the beachfront.
Is Ibiza Town Worth A Visit?
The capital of the island, the ancient Ibiza Town, is a great place to visit for anyone who is on holiday in Ibiza. There are a number of great hippy markets for you to peruse and some fantastic bars and restaurants too. If you’re up for the climb, head to the top of the old fortress and you can experience some of the old-world charm that Ibiza has in bucket loads. The winding streets that snake around the old fortress are great places to take a stroll and pop in and out of boutique stores and tiny art galleries. The views from the top of Ibiza old town are magnificent and the small square of Plaza de España has two fantastic little restaurants that you must try.
Where Are The Best Places For Nightlife?
For general nightlife, the West End of San Antonio is normally the place to be. Endless streets lined with bars and small clubs make it a great place to start a night out and prepare for one of Ibiza’s legendary super clubs. There’s no need to plan any specific itinerary as the endless throngs of promoters will be there to offer you free drinks, shots and various other incentives to get you into their bar. If you want a more relaxed night out, try the legendary Cafe del Mar on the very edge of the San Antonio cove and watch the sunset with a cocktail or two. Cafe del Mar claims to boast the best sunset on the whole island and I would tend to agree!
When Is The Best Time Of Year To Visit?
Again, the answer to this question very much depends on the type of holiday you are looking for. If you’re going out for the club scene, most opening parties happen in very late May or early to mid-June and the season lasts until around mid-October. If you’re a sun worshipper only concerned with the beach, then this time of year will also be best. However, the weather in Ibiza is generally good all year round and some fantastically cheap holidays in Ibiza can be found whichever time of year you decide on, but especially in the couple of months directly before and after the peak summer season. Ibiza is a good destination for winter sun boasting a pleasant climate and many hours of sunshine, but it can get very chilly in the evening, so a heated pool is a must!
