Magaluf Resorts
Magaluf is a major resort on Majorca, ten miles from Palma. It is probably best known as the place to go if you want pubs, clubs and nightlife, but it’s actually very suitable for family holidays too.
Activities
Magaluf is a place where there is lots going on. Sports of all types are on offer – go-kart racing, horseback riding, golf, scuba diving, jet ski-ing, wind surfing and more. So if you like and your children like to be active, then you should find plenty of things to entertain you.
Of course, there will be days when you want something a little less stenuous to do, and there are plenty of wonderful local beaches filled with gorgeous sands and surrounded by clear waters and plenty of beach cafes and other amenities on the other. There are three main beaches within the Magaluf resort, as well as a number of smaller beaches stretching along the coast.
Another gentle activity but one which is great fun is to take a trip out on a glass bottomed boat to see some of the wonderful underwater flora and fauna that this magnificent island has to offer. These trips can be quite popular so it’s best to book in advance.
Affordable Meals
Food here comes in a very wide range of styles from fast food outlets to traditional Spanish dishes. There are also plenty of places selling a wide variety of food types – English, Chinese, Japanese to name a few and it’s reasonable priced, meaning that you can enjoy a meal out without emptying your pockets. A traditional Spanish meal might cost you around 12 euros per person.
Ten minutes walk from Magaluf is the Western Water Park. It is a western themed water park with lots of rides from La Bestia which is a thirty metre water drop to Olivers Water Show where you can sit back, relax and watch water acrobats doing their thing. There are various types and sizes of water slide here, so there is something for everyone to enjoy.
The House of Katmandu is a great day out too. This upside down Tibetan style mansion is quite extraordinary to look at from the outside. Inside you’ll find such things as the Genetics Lab and the Cave of Shivers and the Library of Illusions
Many hotels here have family friendly entertainment in the evenings, so you don’t need to feel that the nightlife is just for clubbers. Some of the hotel complexes offer baby sitting services too, so you can enjoy a night out, secure in the knowledge that your children will be safe and well looked after.
