Sights to visit in Egypt

Beautiful, vibrant and stunning are just some of the words that can be used to describe Egypt and those are ones that mainly used when describing the beaches and diving in the Red Sea. Aside from its beaches and underwater worlds, Egypt is home to an incredible range of ancient sites, from the pyramids and sphinx in Cairo and Giza to the infamous Valley of the Kings in Luxor, there really is so much to see and do in Egypt.

Trip to Cairo from Sharm el Sheikh

Where to commence your sightseeing in Egypt all depends on where you are based for your Egypt holidays if you happen to be staying in Sharm el Sheikh it is worth planning ahead and booking a day trip to Cairo with an organised tour. If you are planning a day trip, you may not be able to spend as long as you would like at certain architectural sites like the Sakkara Pyramids, the museums and the ancient capital Memphis, but you will at least be able to fit everything in and you will be taken to the next important site without any hassle. If you’re not in a rush to head back home why not amble down the Nile on a Nile cruise or spend some time at the popular beach resort of Hurghada.

For a greater understanding of Egyptian history on your holiday head to Luxor and visit the incredible Valley of the Kings and the ancient tombs and temples including Tutankhamen’s.  For more culture in Egypt head to Giza, located only 20km from Cairo, it is a must stop for any Egyptian history buff. Here you will find the sacred structures of the Great Sphinx as well as the Great Pyramids of Giza, spend your time meandering around these incredible structures and make sure you stick around for the extraordinary light show in the evening – a sight not to be missed!

So if you are planning holiday in Egypt, don’t just spend your days relaxing by the beaches – get out and experience the true Egyptian culture.
